User administration

The user administration lets you set up and manage user accounts and assign and withdraw user authorizations. User rights apply within a tenant working environment of Episerver Campaign. A client is an independent and self-contained system for organizing your mailings. You can use one or more tenants. or sub-clients. You can assign different authorizations to the same user in different sub-tenants (provided you have sub-tenants) using roles. For example, assign the following authorizations:

Manage users by tenant

To manage users by client, select the main screen in Episerver Campaign in the start menu, on which the available options are grouped. under administration > user. The window Manage users opens.

create user

  1. Select from the drop-down list client select the tenant for which you want to create a user.
  2. click on Create user…. The window Manage permissions opens.

  3. Include the user's email address (used as username), language, gender, first name, last name, and phone number of the user.

  4. Optional: To send the user an activation email (or to reset a user's password and PIN), select Send activation email. You can also start the activation process later in the window Manage users start manually.

    To enable this feature, contact customer support.

  5. click on Manage permissions ....

  6. In the area Assign roles you can assign one or more roles to the user.

    You cannot assign or revoke individual permissions. Create a new role or contact customer support.

    1. Click in the list Available roles on the left side on the roles that you want to assign to the user and click on >.

      The following roles are available:

      roleproperties
      AdministratorHas all available authorizations (with the exception of additional functions) and can create additional users himself.
      editorStandard user including the authorization to manage recipient lists and recipient history.
      AuthorEditor without shipping rights.
      Assistant AuthorEditor without shipping, export and import rights.
      Report AnalystCan create and output reports with Deep Analytics. Otherwise has no further authorizations.
      Interface programmerHas access to all relevant areas for working with Episerver's APIs.

      You can only see and assign roles if you yourself have all the authorizations for this role. You can find your own roles under administration > roll invest. You cannot assign or revoke roles that contain permissions that you do not have yourself.

    2. Highlight in the list Assigned roles the role you just assigned and enter in the fields Valid from and Date of Expiry the period in which the role should be valid. If you want the role to be valid indefinitely, select the check box Unlimited.
  7. click on To confirm.

  8. click on Finished.

    An overview of the assigned user authorizations appears.

  9. The new user must activate their user account with their personal activation key. Contact customer care for the activation key.

Edit user

  1. Open the window Manage users.
  2. Select from the drop-down list client select the tenant whose user you want to edit.
  3. Select one or more users and click on Manage permissions ....
  4. In the area Assign roles you can assign one or more roles to the user.

    You cannot assign or revoke individual permissions. Create a new role or contact customer support.

    1. Click in the list Available roles on the left side on the roles that you want to assign to the user and click on >.
    2. Highlight in the list Assigned roles the role you just assigned and enter in the fields Valid from and Date of Expiry the period in which the role should be valid. If you want the role to be valid indefinitely, select the check box Unlimited.
  5. click on To confirm.

  6. click on Finished.

Change user data

To change user data such as language, gender, name and telephone number, proceed as follows:

  1. Select from the drop-down list client select the tenant whose user you want to edit.
  2. Select a user and click on Change user data….
  3. Change the user data and click on Finished.

Manage tenants for users

In order to display all clients in which a certain user has authorizations, open the tab Tenants for users and click in the drop-down list user to the corresponding user.

To give the user a new To assign tenants, click on Assign new clients .... The window Manage permissions opens.

To one existing To edit users, select one or more tenant check boxes that you want to assign to the user.

  1. click on Manage permissions ....
  2. Assign the user in the area Assign roles a role too.
