wing chun vs. jeet kune do

hi can someone tell me the differences and what is better suited for self-defense.
    thanks

  2. 02-10-2004, 10:22#2

JKD is very good for self defense, that's the style Bruce Lee invented. Consists of many different types of KS. Boxing, Aikido, MT, and more do not come to mind now

The attacks and blocks are simple but very effective. Exactly what you want, for the street fight where you don't have much time for gnarled ineffective jumps either way ...

    That's it for me, peace!

  3. 02-10-2004, 11:13#3

That's not a good question. They are totally different.
What is better for the SV depends on what type of guy you are.
The best thing to do is take a look at both of them, make your own picture.

  4. 02-10-2004, 11:17#4

Well, Andy Hug's profile says JKD, then he should actually know what it is

say what is better suited for self-defense.
    thanks

Doesn't that just depend on the respective type of person, so my impression was actually of the KS / KK so far, wasn't it ??!

sometimes stupid questions are often asked, should I ask one?

should i rather go play softball or baseball?

    prefer to bathe or shower?

do what you want, you will not hear here: do that, the other is bad, unless there are vernatists here who cannot deal with other kk and ks

Nevertheless, you can just go into the differences between the two kk's. He wanted to know much more about it. By the way, I would be interested personally too. Sometimes the feeling in the forum everyone always understands "which kk is the best? "

  8. 02-10-2004, 18:18#8

aaaaaaalsooo .... you have to do what you feel like doing and because of the differences, I don't know much, but I know that although only a few know that Bruce Lee used to be taught Wing Tsun for about 10 years. JKD is thrown together from 26 different martial arts. But about 85% of that is Wing Tsun. But doing what you like most should be the top priority. However, I think that if you train Wing Tsun about 3 times a week, it MAY be the "better" SV. I hope it made it clear that I was trying to express myself as carefully as possible.
    Have fun

Well, first of all Bruce Lee didn't have any lessons in WT, because it was first invented by Mr. Kernspecht and various * ing * ung enthusiasts would blush with anger if you told them that the ewto-WT with the KK from Yip One is identical. Conclusion: Bruce Lee did not train a WT and Yip Man's WC or VC (no idea, but I openly admit) did not have such an influence on JKD after everything I read.

    1. JKD has nothing to do with WT!

    2. JKD is a mixture of Wing Chun, fencing and boxing.

    3. JKD is fit for combat.

    4. Wing Chun is suitable for combat.

Wing Tsun was not DEVELOPED by KERNSPECHT.

IT'S called LEUNG TING WING TSUN !!!!

Kernspecht founded the EWTO, nothing more

    Hi everyone

it is difficult to define the differences between JKD and WC.
For the first time BL did not train a WT because this form did not exist yet.

From 1959 until his death, his art changed.
In the beginning it was WC with influences "less KK" after Demile only 1 that was
the back fist from Chou lie Fut Kung Fu.

Definitely later a mischung from fencing, wing chun and western boxing. , but the evulotion has changed the original techniques so that the origin is almost no longer recognizable.

The difference to the toilet is very blatant. Similar in 1959, great distance in 1963, almost no longer recognizable in 1967.
