Rule: After around 80% of all verbs, the nouns are in the accusative. The accusative is the simplest case in German: only the masculine articles change: der> den and ein> ein.

Rule: “not” negates verbs, “no” negates nouns.

“Not” is unchangeable, “no” is declined like “a”.

(6) Yesterday (perfect)

Rule: The perfect tense consists of haben or sein and the past participle of the verb. Most verbs form the perfect with haben, verbs of movement (walk, drive, stand up ...) form the perfect with sein.
