The provider

Education for everyone who previously had no chance - Werner Kamprath founded the in 1948 with this aim Study group Darmstadt. The need was great, because the war years meant that there were not enough qualified workers available for the economic recovery. There was usually no time for long, full-time training and further education, as the daily living had to be earned.

With his concept of preparing learning content for recognized qualifications in such a way that they can be acquired in self-study alongside work, Werner Kamprath met exactly the need on the market. In addition to the content and didactic quality, the focus of the sgd was on a high level of service and support for the learners from day one. Today certifications according to the internationally recognized standards ISO 9001 and ISO 29990, TÜV Süd service quality and AZWV / AZAV also prove the high service and quality standards of the sgd.

More than 65 years after it was founded, the SGD has a total of over 900,000 course participants. Today around 60,000 customers receive further training at sgd every year. The study program currently comprises over 200 courses in the areas of school leaving qualifications, languages, economics, technology, IT and digital media, general education as well as creativity, personality and health - many of them with state and publicly recognized qualifications.
