How high can a drone fly

The app is set to 100m by default, but as with the DJI Phantom 3 and Phantom 4, you can also change the setting to 500m here. According to some German users, 6 km are reachable. But not in the city. The transmission power of the remote control is usually achieved by the GPS software, and this changes accordingly when you are abroad. However, it can happen that this is also permanently set in the course of the manufacturing process. There are also two different remote control versions for the Phantom 3.

You can set 500m high and the distance is only limited to the range of the signal (theoretically 7km, but will be more like 3)

Height is limited to 100m in Germany, range is limited to visibility in Germany, but yes, theoretically 7km if all conditions are met.

The flight altitude is limited by the software (dji GO app). The default limit is 100 (or 120m)
This can be overridden by confirming a legal notice, but max. Up to 500m (from the starting point).

The theoretical distance from the remote control to the drone at which the radio connection is still stable is 7km.
That means "theoretically" you can fly a maximum of 500m (above the starting point) and 7km in a direct line distance.
Legally, the drone can only be flown at sight. However, the permitted altitudes or flight areas depend on the location.
Private properties may not be overflown, but the legal situation here is a bit "vague".
There are also no-fly zones or restrictions (airfields, power plants ...).
With the current version of the dji GO APP, these zones are automatically blocked or restricted. Show less The flight altitude is limited by the software (dji GO app). The default limit is 100 (or 120m)

My Mavic flies 500m high and about 4km far. 7km is the range according to the FCC standard (e.g. in the USA)

on https://www.dji.com/de/mavic/info it says Wi-Fi transmission range 80 m (distance), 50 m (height) without obstacles and interference-free /// that means the radio, so the copter can theoretically 7 km be flown but you have no picture after 80 m ??? yes that's crap ... if that's true I want to fly around 4 km away (uphill control of a pulley, I would save driving up) ... or ????????????
