Where's the best coffee in Perth

Coffee Guide: 11 tips for really good coffee in Perth

# Café guides

Perth reflects what you imagine Australia to be: a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful and almost deserted beaches and lots of sunshine. What shouldn't be missing there, of course, is really good coffee. Here I introduce you to my personal favorite cafés!

My absolute favorite is Café Antz inya Pantz. Antz inya Pantz is located in Perth's suburb Victoria Park. When it is very full, the self-operated roastery and an associated café in Fremantle are also opened, where you can take your coffee to go with you. Most of the time this is the case. The Antz inya Pantz was created through the love for good coffee and the desire to roast yourself. The beans, which are carefully selected and sourced from different countries, are freshly roasted every day. Since it is sunny all around the year in Perth and usually very warm, cold coffee should of course not be missing in the heat. You can also get this from Antz inya Pantz - self-made. A brewing method developed in-house is used for this. In addition, the café supports three social institutions in Perth with the proceeds. For this purpose, a campaign is started at least once a year, in which the entire proceeds of the day are given to the three institutions. To the website!

A little tip: the first coffee bought at Antz inya Pantz is on the house!

The best time in Perth to go for a swim and enjoy a nice cup of coffee is early in the morning. So I would like to recommend another café where you couldn't start the day better: the South Beach Café. Here the doors open at six in the morning and don't close before it starts to get dark.

Espressi combined with milk and the popular Long Black are offered mainly from the portafilter. If you feel more like a cool iced coffee than a warm cup of coffee, you can of course get this too. This is served on ice (cubes or cream). To the website!

Perthians love to have breakfast. We joined this passion. One café that is definitely one of our favorites is the Lo Quay River Café. Perth not only borders the sea - the Swan River also flows through Perth, which is ideal for many recreational sports activities, a picnic by the river or a coffee. The Lo Quay River Café was only 'converted' into a café in the last few years. In earlier times it was used as a kiosk and has long been a popular meeting place. Today mainly families meet here, as the adjacent parkland and a playground invite you to move around freely. The coffee is lovingly prepared and breakfast is also highly recommended. Anyone staying near Curtin University should take a little detour. To the website!

Since the warm but not too hot morning in Perth is so beautiful, we got up pretty early almost every day. So we set out one morning at six o'clock in the morning and went fishing on the coast in the north of Perth. After the (fish) yield was pretty meager, however, after a few unsuccessful hours we strengthened ourselves with a good coffee and a delicious breakfast in Chippy's Beach Shack directly on Jindalee Beach. The café is located on a rock and you have a great view of the coast and the sea. Perfect for a good start to the morning! But not only the morning can be endured here. Live music is often played in the early evening, especially on weekends. To the Facebook page!

Fremantle Markets - Black Cherries

If you have ended up in Perth, a visit to Fremantle is a must. Fremantle is located approx. 19 km southwest of Perth and stands out due to its older architecture and the adjoining harbor, which gives the city a very special charm. The city is characterized by countless cafés and is known for the famous 'Cappuccino Strip'. The Fremantle Markets, which are open from Friday to Sunday evenings, are another major attraction in the city.

The café I'm introducing to you is right here. It's called Black Cherries Espresso and the smell of freshly made coffee tempted us to take another coffee break. Black Cherries Espresso supports small and local coffee cooperatives in different countries. Most of the beans come from Ethiopia and Kenya, but many also come from South America. All coffees are made from 100% arabica beans and are freshly roasted in Perth. In addition to a portafilter, the coffee is also often prepared in the Chemex. The beans are also sold under the name 'Atlas' in Café Red Cherries in Fremantle. Definitely worth a visit. To the website!

Ristretto opened its doors in 2007 with the aim of introducing Specialty Coffee in Perth and providing coffee drinkers with the best coffee ever. The beans come from Bolivia and Ristretto works closely with local coffee cooperatives. They pay attention to high quality and organic cultivation and thus ensure the high quality standard of the café. Every Saturday there is an invitation to try the coffee - and it's even free. The City Center in Perth also has a lot of good cafés to offer. One, which is located in the center of the city, invites you to sit outside. A wide variety of coffee varieties are prepared here with the portafilter machine. A highlight is the Affogato coffee, which consists of the combination of a double espresso and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This little café is located in the heart of Perth - in London Court to be more precise. When you step into this small, narrow alley you feel like you are stepping into little old London. As the name of the café suggests, the espresso is particularly recommended here. To the Facebook page!

Northbridge is a suburb of Perth, which is directly adjacent to the City Center. Northbridge is known for its many bars, restaurants and cafés. The Local Beaufort and the Urbanistar deserve special mention here.

The Urbanistar roasts directly on site and roasts to order shortly before the beans are picked up. In addition to good coffee, the café also offers a place to read. So if you want to relax and look for a good book, you've come to the right place. The cafe is located in Northbridge at 189 William Street.

The Local Beaufort Cafe and Restaurant is located on beautiful Smith Street, near the cricket stadium. If you are not totally crazy about cricket but are on your way to see a game, you shouldn't miss the café. A coffee can work wonders here ... To the website!

Café Fourtyseven Kirwan Street convinces with a very good coffee and an equally good breakfast. As the name suggests, it's on Kirwan Street and it's super popular in the neighborhood. In the other parts of the city it is rather unknown and therefore a real insider. To the website!

My personal tip: John Forest Tavern

If you are in Australia, you shouldn't miss the outback, which takes up ¾ of the area of Australia. One suggestion is to drive to Perth’s Hills and do a hike in the National John Forest Park. Afterwards, the John Forest Tavern invites you to a cool or warm drink. John Forest Tavern is more like a pub than a café, but here you have the opportunity to see small kangaroos in the wild.
