Can a speech therapist cure the murmur

Dyslexia (dyslexia) and LRS (poor reading and writing skills)

More than 5 million Germans have a reading and spelling disorder (LRS).

As a child you are just as intelligent as everyone else and yet you are mocked and often end up in the special school (in the vernacular "special school").

Dyslexia is officially recognized in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) as a circumscribed developmental disorder of reading and writing skills in normal intelligence. This means that a child is considered dyslexic if it is significantly worse at reading or spelling than its (non-linguistic) intelligence would suggest.

Whether you can cure dyslexia is controversial, but you can alleviate the problems. The most important thing is a reliable and detailed diagnosis of the problem in order to be able to initiate targeted support measures.

Dyslexia is a complex problem with several possible causes.

Unfortunately, there is also a lot of misinformation and senseless therapy suggestions in circulation. Teachers and doctors are also often inadequately informed because dyslexia (and general developmental disorders of school skills, definition according to ICD) do not appear in their training.

In schools, dyslexics are therefore often mistakenly viewed as learning disabled or lazy, even though they have age-appropriate intelligence. As a result, they often suffer severe psychological and / or social damage.
