Math lessons in the context of reality, culture and teaching professionalism

Looking at math lessons from different perspectives and examining them scientifically expands the view of learning and teaching math. Four major areas are highlighted in the book, which in particular characterize Gabriele Kaiser's decades of research: mathematical modeling, linguistic and cultural influences on mathematics learning, teacher professional research and theory building in mathematics didactics. Nationally and internationally recognized experts have contributed to these areas in order to honor Gabriele Kaiser on the occasion of her 60th birthday.
