1. Bad preparation
The fact that you as an applicant prepare for an interview and your counterpart should be well known. But the potential employer should also prepare at least as well. "Oh, so you studied business administration and not business informatics? A technical degree would actually be better suited for this position. ”It's not as if that is exactly what is on your résumé… When the HR manager looks at your application documents for the first time in an interview, or at least gives the impression, things go wrong.
2. Lack of interest
Sure, a few standard questions are also part of the job interview to break the ice and get to know the applicant better. But if the whole conversation consists only of boring 08/15 questions like “What is your biggest weakness?” And “What do you know about our company?”, It quickly gives the impression that there is simply no real interest in the other person. Especially when the standardized phrases are processed within 15 minutes and the conversation then comes to an abrupt end.
3. No time for the applicant
If you work full-time, an interview can become a time and organizational problem: When should it take place? But no problem: You are happy to take a day off for your dream job. 5. Lousy questions
Although they have long since disappeared from the world of work and are only known to many as a terrible myth from the distant past, some companies still ask really lousy questions. Whether pregnancy and family planning, state of health or financial circumstances: Questions about these or similar private circumstances are simply forbidden. If these are used in job interviews, it says a lot about the company and the corporate culture. And definitely nothing good.
Of course, employees and employers want to present themselves in the best light in an interview. However, there is a difference between glossing over and lying outright. Not everyone is apparently aware of this. It becomes problematic when a dream job with the best conditions and benefits is promised beforehand and these promises are simply not kept.
