Will meet Daenerys Sansa

What the first meeting of Daenerys Targaryen & Sansa Stark means for Season 8 of Game of Thrones

"Winterfell is yours, Your Grace" - with these words, Sansa Stark receives Daenerys Targaryen in Winterfell, like a new outlook from HBO on the eighth season game of Thrones shows. And those few seconds of footage from the TV series could tell us more, as one would guess at first glance.

# 1: Like father, like daughter

It's not the first time game of Thrones-Viewers hear these words in the TV series: Already in season 1, episode 1, Ned Stark received Robert Baratheon in Winterfell. However, there are some key differences between the two conversations.

Robert Baratheon was already King of Winterfell (and all of Westeros) at this point. So Ned Stark's greeting is much more of a formal courtesy. Sansa Stark, on the other hand, now takes sides in a war: She leaves Winterfell to the Targaryen Queen and thus opposes the Iron Throne and the Lannisters.

# 2: It's shivering in winter fur

Of course, the first meeting between Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen is currently still out of context. However, Sansa does not seem too pleased when she receives the mother of the dragons. This assumption becomes the eighth season with another teaser game of Thrones in which Sansa hugs Jon Snow - and at the same time throws a scowl behind him (i.e. at Daenerys). Both scenes can now be combined with each other, which would confirm the impression of a hypothermic reception.

The fact that Sansa is not too enthusiastic about Daenerys Targaryen was shown in the seventh season game of Thrones. Not too much should have changed since then. Especially after she fought so hard to regain control of Winterfell. Since Sansa was tutored with Cersei Lannister and Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish by perhaps Westeros' most gifted schemers, she might know how to hide her real intentions well enough.

What Sansa actually thinks of Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow's alliance with her, shows up only in Season 8 of game of Thrones. As well as whether it will matter that Jon Snow and Daenerys are now more than just allies in a war.

# 3: Not Ned Stark's bastard

Of course, it will be particularly exciting to see whether and how the world of Jon Schnee's true origins is learned: That he's the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark - and not Ned's bastard. This gives Jon the most legitimate claim to the Iron Throne instead of his Aunt Daenerys. The greeting by Sansa Stark shows that Jon has only just arrived on Winterfell. This left neither Samwell Tarly nor Brandon Stark time to inform him about his family circumstances.

Sooner or later this secret will be revealed. So it is not only exciting to see how the relationship between Jon and Daenerys is shaped, but also that of Jon and Sansa. Both were already at odds over who should take control of Winterfell and run House Stark. Sansa could also motivate Jon to assert his claim to the Iron Throne. Either way: tensions are inevitable.

# 4: the rest of Winterfell

What fans think of the short excerpt from game of Thrones should not forget that in the course of this there will be more reunions - as long as Daenerys can be accompanied by one or the other person: Tyrion Lannister is likely to meet Jorah Mormont againwho, with his arrival in Winterfell, is closer to his home on the Bear Islands than years before.

More importantly, Jon Snow had left Winterfell before Arya and Bran got there. This would mean that the Stark offspring would meet again for the first time since season 1.
