Description

The invention relates to an adapter for a hand pump and in particular to an adapter for a hand pump for pumping different tire valves.
Typical hand pumps for tire valves include a cylinder with a handle for pumping a piston that is slidably engaged in the cylinder. However, the hand pumps each have a fastening element which is suitable for engagement with a particular type of tire valve and which is not suitable for engagement with different tire valves.
DE-PS 9 56 382 discloses a hand pump comprising a tube, a check valve and an air pump head. The air pump head includes a housing, a lever, a seal and a valve fan pin to keep the wheel valve open during the pumping process. This hand pump is only intended for a special wheel valve and is not suitable for engaging various types of valve.
The present invention was created in order to mitigate the above-described disadvantages of the conventional hand pump fastening elements and / or to counter these.
The main object of the present invention is to provide an adapter for a hand pump available that can be used for engagement with different tire valves.
According to one aspect of the invention, an adapter for a hand pump for engagement with different tire valves is vorgese, comprising a pipe part having an upper section with a pipe attached laterally to form a T-shaped configuration, the pipe containing two end sections wherein the tube has two valve seats formed therein, two cover parts attached to the end portions of the tube, the cover parts each having an opening formed therein for engagement with the tire valves, two seals engaging in the end portions of the tube, one in the tube slidably engaged and between the seals plug means, the plug means having two stop fen sections for engagement with the valve seats of the tube, and cam means for moving the stop feneinrichtung to bring the plug sections with the valve seat zen into engagement.
The plug device has two ends, each with an enlarged head section formed thereon, the stop fen sections are formed between the head sections and the plug device.
The head portions each have an opening formed therein to allow air to flow therethrough.
The plug means has a chamber formed therein, the cam means engaging in the chamber.
A handle has a first end with a shaft extending laterally therefrom for rotational engagement with the tube, the cam means is attached to the shaft and is in engagement in the chamber to move the plug means when the handle is around the shaft is rotated.
Further objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent upon careful reading of a detailed description provided below with appropriate reference to accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is an exploded view of an adapter for a hand pump according to the present invention;
Fig. 2 and 3 are cross-sectional views taken along lines 2-2 of FIG Fig. 4; and
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the adapter for the hand pump.
Referring to the drawings and initially to Fig. 1, 2 and 4, an adapter for a hand pump according to the present invention comprises a tubular member 10 with a pipe 11attached to the side of its top to form a T-shaped configuration. The pipe 11 has two ends each with an external thread formed thereon 12, 13 for engagement with internal threads of two cover caps 16 or. 17 so that the caps 16, 17 at the end portions of the pipe 11 can be attached. The cover caps 16, 17 each have an opening formed therein 161, 171 for one approach with different tire valves. The pipe 11 has a bore formed therein 110 for engagement with two seals 14, 15 and a plug means 20 on. One movement 30 has one facing the side of its upper section 301 extending wave 302 for rotating engagement with the pipe 11 and has one on the shaft 302 attached cam plate 31 on. The pipe 11 has two valve seats formed therein 114, 115 on.
The stopper device 20 has two enlarged head sections formed in the end section 21, 22 and has a chamber formed in the central portion 23 for engagement with the cam plate 31 on. The chamber 23 has a dimension that corresponds to the cam plate 31 fits, and is arranged so that the plug means 20 in the pipe 11 Can be moved lengthways when the cam plate 31 is rotated. The head sections 21, 22 each have one or more openings formed therein 212, 222 and each have a plug portion 29, 28 for engagement with a sealing ring 25, 26 on that for engagement with the valve seats 114, 115 are provided to the air ducts to the openings 161, 171 the caps 16, 17 to block. Claims (5)

1. An adapter for a hand pump for engagement with different tire valves, comprising:
  • - A pipe part which has an upper portion with a pipe attached to it laterally to form a T-shaped configuration, the pipe having two end sections, the pipe having two valve seats formed therein,
  • - Two cover caps attached to the end portions of the tube, the cover caps each having an opening formed therein for engagement with the tire valves,
  • - two seals in engagement in the end sections of the pipe,
  • - A stopper device which is slidably engaged in the tube and is located between the seals in a handle, the stopper device having two stop sections for engagement with the valve seats of the tube, and
  • cam means for moving the plug means to engage the plug portions with the valve seats.
2. An adapter for a hand pump according to claim 1, wherein the plug means has two ends each with an enlarged head section formed thereon, the plug sections being formed between the head sections and the plug means.
3. Adapter for a hand pump according to claim 2, wherein the head portions each Weil have an opening formed therein in order to gestat th that air flows through there.
4. An adapter for a hand pump according to claim 1, wherein the plug means has a chamber formed therein, the cam means engaging in the chamber.
5.
