Japanese men lose interest in sex

Have the Japanese lost interest in sex?

Have you heard of the lack of interest in sex in Japan? This leads to various problems such as low birth rates, social isolation and others. In this article we will analyze in detail why the Japanese have lost interest in sex.

Studies suggest that Japan is moving towards a genderless society. Life in Japan has changed dramatically since the 1990s, and a growing small segment of society appears to be struggling to find happiness in relationships.

A large percentage of the population now choose to leave sex behind. Japanese youth culture is changing and more and more young people are simply choosing to forego the physical aspects of intimacy.

In 2010 the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Welfare found that 36% of Japanese between the ages of 16 and 19 were not interested in sex. That number has doubled over the course of two years. Why do Japanese people lose interest in sex?

Celibacy Syndrome

The lack of interest in sex is well known sekkusu shinai shokogun [セ ッ ク ス し な い い] or "Celibacy Syndrome". According to surveys, more than 50% of the population has not had sex for up to a month.

Even married Japanese say they don't have much sex most of the time because they come home tired or simply not interested.

Another term for Japanese people who do not have sex is Soushoku Danshi [草食 男子] which literally means "men who eat grass" or "herbivores". These men are usually straight people who consider themselves sensitive and generally not interested in sex.

Not interested in relationships

The Japanese have not lost interest in sex, the entertainment industry in Japan is gigantic and active. The big problem is that many Japanese have never dated or are even virgins.

Despite the lack of relationships, interest in sex is widespread among young people. Many suffer from shyness or social isolation, but engage in erotic media, objects of sexual pleasure, or even prostitution.

In reality, prostitution is not difficult to access in Japan, and it is also free to obtain. For many Japanese, having a virtual girlfriend or a 2D character is less work than a real relationship.

Many Japanese end up finding other ways to have sexual pleasure without needing the opposite sex. Some young people prefer to relate to anime characters and games than real people.

Others really want to have a real relationship but make no effort to make it happen.

Why the lack of interest?

Various factors make it difficult for the Japanese to reach a relationship or marriage, such as:

  • Social isolation;
  • Lack of contact;
  • Shyness;
  • Revision;
  • Perfectionism;
  • Lack of interest;
  • Other ways to achieve sexual pleasure;
  • They think dating is too much work;

What do you think of the analysis of the individual points mentioned?

Lack of relationships due to shyness

Shyness in Japan is one of the main visible causes preventing young Japanese people from identifying. If you live in Brazil and you know shy people, you need to imagine the difficulties they face. I am one of those people.

In Brazil, this is easier because we are surrounded by people who interact without shame. Now imagine a scenario where most people are shy. If no one does anything, they end up alone.

The shyness is so great that even the perverts in Japan are no longer arrested for rape for stealing panties or doing other things that are not about sex between two people.

Lack of sex because of work

The Japanese economy has stagnated and prices have increased since the mid-1990s. This made it increasingly difficult for young people to leave the house and lead a life of their own. They have to work to support their luxury and pay for a cabin.

Even some couples have months without sex, especially after their first child. Some claim that they work too hard and come home tired.

Is that really the real reason? Most of the time, people waste their time on the computer, cell phone, or drinking in a bar instead of keeping company for their spouse.

Women often have to choose between work and family. According to some statistics, around 70% of Japanese women are essentially forced to stop working after their first child.

Different reasons

Unfortunately, many marriages take place in Japan, no longer out of love for status and the desire to stabilize. It's not as big as other countries, but there are cases of infidelity in marriage, sometimes both of them know the cases but don't care.

Some don't even look at cheating as a way of finding sexual pleasure outside of marriage, others just look at sex as a way to get pleasure, not love. Others just think that a relationship's commitment is a huge burden.

Some experts suggest that sexist attitudes in the male population have also caused a lack of sex. Men have started exploring other lifestyles as they cannot find a partner.

Do you know the old cliché of the virgin nerds? Studies suggest that well-educated people tend to have less sex than their less-educated counterparts. Given that Japan has one of the best educational systems in the world, it makes sense ...

Is Natality Really To Blame For The Lack Of Sex?

The fact that the Japanese don't have many children doesn't mean they don't have sex. This is the result of a capitalist and intelligent society, so it is very common for people with no financial condition to be repaired to have 10 children in Brazil and rich people only 1, 2 or none.

If a person is smart, he will not have children without being able to raise them, many Japanese couples think about it. So much so that only 2% of children born in Japan are pre-marriage.

Japanese consumer power is high, but raising a child in Japan is still difficult despite government funding. Sometimes both men and women work and don't want to have a child to be lonely. There are several cultural aspects that help couples avoid having children:

  • Working day;
  • Couple decision;
  • It takes a lot of dedication.
  • Financial conditions;

Another major contributor to the lack of fertility rates in Japan is abortion. Although abortion is banned in Japan for some reason, doctors will end up turning a blind eye and performing an abortion. I have already written 2 articles on abortion and childbirth in Japan. Less generalizations

We must not imagine that people in Japan are not interested in sex or children. We find that the big cause of natalidade goes well beyond the lack of sex.

Not to mention, these surveys are never accurate. They are usually done in large cities with small numbers, where people work hard, and the Japanese interviewed may not speak the truth about the subject.

The rise in the lack of sex and singles could increase beyond Japan. According to the 2013 Census Bureau report, 27% of American households are single. The United States is also becoming increasingly apathetic about sex.

More and more Americans are reporting that they simply don't have the time, energy, or general inclination to have relationships. That sentiment is reflected in America's decline in the marriage rate, which is the lowest in the country's history.

Most of the cases that couples do not have sex in Japan is because of their lack of interest. You don't have to be scared or afraid to have a relationship with someone from Japan. If you want you can go up this!

It's not that the Japanese are not interested in sex, most just can't find the right person. If you have the experience of talking about something or if you know cases about it, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
